![]() | The Champ Date: 09 July, 2002 — $17.98 — DVD / VHS Rating: |
We came across this on our recent visit to the DVD library and as the man had seen it years ago, he said it would be a good one to watch.
After getting over how young Jon Voight is in this, I settled down to watch this.
Jon Voight is Billy, the Champ, a former boxing champion who has been in retirement for 7 years. He has a young son TJ (Timmy) who adores his dad more than anything in the world.
We see Billy try to do what is best for his son. Faye Dunaway is TJ's mother thought TJ is at first unaware of this and has grow up believing his mother was an angel in heaven.
Billy wants to come out of retirement and fight again though he is now 37 years old - TJ believes in him and helps to encourage him.
If you watch this, you will most likely cry (I did) but you will enjoy it.
