Having seen a few movie adaptations of other Grisham novels, I was easily persuaded by a friend to read him. I have been lent 4 books, and my first choice was The Chamber as I need a 'C' title for the alphabet challenge.

Sam Cayhall is an old man sitting on Death Row at Parchman Prison. He is there for his involvement in several bombings 1967, the worst of which killed 2 five year old children. Sam never admitted there was anyone else with him during these bombings, his strict adherance to the honour of the Ku Klux Klan prevents him from implicating anyone else.

Adam Hall is a rookie lawyer who has been employed by a large Chicago Law firm and requests to be allowed to work onthe Sam Cayhall case. We soon learn that Adam is Sam's grandson.

With just 28 days left to fight, Adam is prepared to try what ever he can to stop the execution of his grandfather.

It is a rough ride for Adam as he learns more about his family history and tries desperately to save his grandfathers life!
