What is it about employers who think they own you 24-7?

I work Monday to Friday from 9 til 1 and 2:30 til 5:30 and Saturday mornings from 9 til 1. Tomorrow they organized a seminar from 2:30 til 5:30 and I can't go. I have another job to do at 2pm and I am getting paid for it - I need the extra money and its MY time not work time!

I told the MD and he was quite horrible and said I have my priorities screwed up! I told him my priority is to earn money right now. He said it's up to me - not in a nice way.... I was incredibly pissed off and still am really.

Oh well, stuff it, I need the cash and they are not paying me to sit there on my Saturday afternoon!

I am now stitching and watching Ab Fab so my mood is getting much brighter now - might be finished soon, I hope so anyway.
