Another dvd rental and another Adam Sandler film I enjoyed very much!
This is a remake of the old movie Mr. Deeds goes to town. Adam Sandler plays Longfellow Deed, Deeds to his friends. He owns a pizza restaurant in a small town and writes greeting cards, hoping one day Hallmark might buy one.
Preston Blake, billionaire dies leaving no know heirs. After a search it is found that Deeds is Blakes only living relative....
Add some funny cameos, a nasty, slimy bad guy and people singing 'ground control to Major Tom' and you can't go far wrong right?
Deeds goes to New York to settle matters of inheritance and falls for a tabloid style journalist who is trying to get the scoop on him. She falls for him too and has to figure out how to tell him the truth...
I never saw the original film so I will not (and cannot) compare but on its own merits, I really liked this film.
