Fashion – a disaster

I was recently told off for false advertising, my blog is named Karen’s insane rants yet I have neglected ranting for a while so here comes a rant in true Karen style…. The subject is clothes and fashion, now I don’t know about the rest of you but I like nice clothes and I like to be able to wear them more than 3 times ever! I bloody despise fashion for the simple reason that you cannot find any normal clothes or shoes that are just simple classic styles.

I recently needed to replace my old faithful jeans cause I wore them out, literally! All I wanted was a simple pair of jeans, Lee or Levis or Wrangler or anything – I am not bothered. Now I quite like boot-cut (Trinny and Susannah lessons taught me that boot cut suits me) so I am not too concerned about that but honestly I have not got the worlds flattest tummy so I really do not want to buy anything that is labelled hipster and believe me many a girl that should not wear these garments and do, ladies buy a full length mirror please, please I am begging you!

The above goes for all trousers, unless you have a really flat tummy please do not wear hipsters, and if you must wear a thong underneath make sure its not grey and or faded and if possible NOT SHOWING.

And now we move on, or up, if you have to wear a bra, and most of us do, then get one that fits, its unsightly to see bits of bulging bosom everywhere, especially near the armpit area! That is beside the rant! Top half attire is such a nightmare these days, if its not boob tube its one sleeved and seriously if you need to wear a bra then this sort of clothing doesn’t bode well. If you are going for the shear backed type things then get the right support, there is nothing worse than having bits of bra showing when they really should not be! I cannot wear these nonsensical tops, they just don’t light my candle one bit – aside from me not being the kind to go without unless the top in question is supportive (you know what I am talking about) this...  is just an example, and this I cant even begin to comment – oh and before I forget, I cannot look at the window in Topshop due to teal phobia – teal, I mean, please people get serious!!

Now let me move on to shoes, who in world thought it would be a good idea to bring back platforms????? Uuugh I am sorry, the sixties and seventies were great times, thirty and forty years ago, lets leave the past where it belongs eh!

Now you guys out there you have no idea how difficult us girls have it. I have what I like to consider a womanly figure, I was not built like I boy, I have curves, yet trousers that fit the hips are big at the waist, is it my fault I was built like Marilyn? Its so easy for guys, need a shirt, shirt bought, no worrying about 1 sleeve or no sleeves or hipster trousers (god forbid) and shoes are simple nice shoes for you boys, so when we girls find something to wear please try to realize the lengths we have gone to to actually achieve this!
