Well as of midnight, Malta is a full member of the European Union. The country had a very impressive show in the grand harbour which was shown on the national station and around the world (so they said). Funny thing about Malta is the opposition had no coverage at all, almost as if they are in denial of the facts! When the referendum was held as to will we or wont we join, it was unfortunately turned into a political argument so that if you were nationalist you had to be one way and if you were labourist the opposite. It was nothing to do with what was in the interest of the people and the nation. The Yes vote came through at about the same majority as most general elections and sadly they don't see that it is now fact so lets just get on and make the best of it!
