dis-belief

I wanted to try and express my terrible sadness and shock at what has happened - My man is on a plane now heading back to the UK but meanwhile I see images on the net of places I have just been. Some that have really made me sad and teary are these among which are some images I took during my stay

This is an image of Bangla Road which is where most of the night life in Patong happens. I have friends here with a shop which is now a disater area. Two of the guys that work for this friend are missing.

This is the top of Bangla Road, sadly it is a very flat area so the force of the waves reached along the entire length of this road.

This is close to the seafront restaurant (remember I mentioned sitting with my feet in the sand) so sad!

Here is the bus to Phuket, I was on this bus on the 14th of December, this is the corner close to where we frequently had breakfast.

The view from Dolphin Bar where we had many breakfasts, thankfully one of the girls was off that day and the other saw the sea disappear then a huge wave so she literally jumped on her bike and made it safely though she did get caught with the last bit of the wave, better to be wet than injured or worse.

This truck is at the entrance of a seafront store, the stairs lead to a supermarket which I went into many many times - there was no way out of here, I know that for certain!

I had my second ever Starbucks coffee right here, Creme Brulle Latte. I still have the receipt...  date 9th December, 75 baht.... I have fond memories of this day as the man and I sat here for a while people watching and enjoying eachothers company.

The numbers are still rising and I am thankful that I am home and my man is on his way but I am so sad as I know that so many people I met and spoke to and became friends with have been lost in this tragedy.
