Did she make us more aware?

Kylie Minogue has been someone I have loved for many years.

From her early days playing Charlene Mitchell, then Mrs. Scott Ramsey she was always my favorite character. Being a girl mechanic helped of course! I was always the one helping my dad in the garage so I could really relate :)

I still remember the release of the Locomotion and her early Stock Aitken & Waterman hits which I loved (and still do)

Lately of course, we were told the shocking news that at just 36, Kylie discovered she has breast cancer!

My initial reaction was that a lot of good will come of this, although I was very sad to hear the news. My thoughts were and still are that many young women will check themselves out and hopefully there will be women out there that go to their doctors and check out anything strange and hopefully beat this aweful disease early.

Kylie has now had an operation to remove a lump in her breast and she is in good spirits. I think we should all spend a little time doing a self exam - its is easy to say it wont be me or I am not old enough but we have seen from Kylie that age doesn'e always matter.

I wish her a speedy recovery and anyone reading this who has been through it or is going through it, my best wishes go to you too xxxx
