I have never really picked up Minette Walters but because of
bookcrossing I stopped at a charity bazaar to find some books to release. I picked 3 and this was one of them. I later noticed this book was suitable as my 'A' book for the Alphabet Readers challenge.
****
Acid row, originally Bassindale Row, is home to single mothers and general down and outs. The streets are controlled by the teenagers who have very little sense of consequence. A health visitor lashes out at a patient she looks down upon and lets slip that a paedophile has been moved into the area. Speculation is rife and the mothers decided to hold a march to highlight the danger to their kids. Mis-information leads to a riot with police unable to get in and residents unable to get out.
A young doctor called Sophie Morrison is in the area just as the trouble starts and is unknowingly in the house about to be attacked by the mob.
Page 1 tells of the headlines from the aftermath and we know 3 people die in this violence, what you will want so much to find out is who dies.

I think I will look out for more Minette Walters after reading this. I could hardly put it down! Being released via
bookcrossing soon......
